Here are some extras from 'American Idol' runner-up Adam Lambert's upcoming video. I sort of dig the Mad Max vibe, even if it is a bit tired and rehashed. I think the only problem I have with Glambert is he's stuck in the '90s. He's not on the cutting edge of anything, but his attitude on the show made it obvious that he feels like he's very creative and original. That said, stick with what works for you. Obviously, gothica fashion rewind is his thing. Why try to be something you're not? Plus, some people are totally into it. Be yourself today and it will lead you to a better tomorrow.

I think the look is cool. What Adam has to watch out for is becoming a camp act/imitation of himself before he ever gets started releasing music. Even now there is more said about his look, clothes and makeup than is said about his music.
WHOA!! EASY ON MY GLAMMY! I LOVE HIM - he is very dynamic as such that he can morph into any music genra. My daughter and I actually went to the AI concert and loved his performance. He did a great job. His voice is out of this world - he can hit some awesome pitch. What can I say. I think the reason he did not win because of the society's homophobia and wanting to preserve that idealized look like what's his name, Chris something? Just sayin... and oh yes, I am waiting for his CD. I do have to admit the song released is not what I expected but heck I think he is awesome so I will but 10 CD's. :)

And I was not hard on Adam, so there's no reason to go "easy." He is different than other AI contestants, but not original in the larger scale of the music scene. Either way, the idea is to be true to yourself. His songs so far, as you say, are not what his audience expected and have yet to leave an impression. He absolutely has an amazing voice, no doubt.
As for not winning Idol, there's an ongoing debate it was because he's gay. If that were the case I don't think he would have made it all the way to the finals. My feelings is that AI is a mom show, based on ratings, and moms vote for the cute, innocent looking boy-next-door type...which I don't think is a homophobic reaction, just a preference. I like glam and goth looks, but many of my friends thinks those dudes are scary. They prefer Chris too.
Adam IS the first (out-of-the-gate) openly gay mainstream music star, and he should be given a chance to make his mark; just as he is.
