This might surprise you: A visual representaion of proper serving sizes (p.s. I just discovered that "serving size" -- even when pictures show food in a skillet -- means after the meal is cooked and is ready to eat. I had always thought a serving was before prep. I learn things!)

Portions can be so deceiving. In America we've gotten so used to the huge amounts of food we are served in most restaurants.
I'm always amazed by the labels. A Marie Callender's pot pie, for example, serves two. Who eats half a pot pie? They only list calories (over 500) for 1 serving.
I'm going to go out on a limb and expose my ignorance but wtf??
Is the correct serving size for meat the healthy amount to eat and is it the same size as a deck of cards???
I stick with turkey and grilled chicken but damned if I know whether or not twelve inches on a toasted sub is the right serving size.
